KIDSCARE @ VIVA FITNESS
DO YOU NEED A GYM WITH CHILD MINDING FACILITIES?
Our KidsCare facility is a child minding service, offered to parents who are members of VIVA Fitness, giving them the opportunity to train and enjoy some ME time.
Our beautiful staff aim to provide a warm, friendly, safe and happy environment for your child, while you enjoy your workout.
In our KidsCare we aim to engage your children with learning through sensory play, games and arts & crafts. Sometimes, it may just be cuddles and a nap!
BOOKING SYSTEM
Bookings are essential.
As a child minding facility, there is a set ratio of child to staff, therefore we will staff according to bookings.
We have a private facebook group created for all our VIVA Kidscare parents which we use for all bookings and communication.
Things to know;
1 – bookings will be confirmed with a ‘like’
2 – no shows will still be charged the normal fee
3 – cancellations that occur after kidscare has opened will still be charged the normal fee
4 – bookings times are capped at 1.5hours
5 – If you have not had a booking confirmed, or if you wish to come at Kidscare is already open – we ask you to call the club to confirm directly with the staff.
If not on social media, bookings can be made in kidscare directy or by calling the club on 8353 5533.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Our Kidscare staff are lovely mums, with childcare experience, police clearances and first aid certificates.
We ask you to please keep in mind, that they are here to do a very important job and need to be able to do this as soon as your little one arrives into kidscare.
We ask with respect to please ‘kiss & drop’ as best you can, to make it easier not just on our staff but also for your little one(s) to help them settle in quickly.
As a child minding service, our staff do have to care for more than one child, which means they often are not able to cater to parents feed and sleep requests.
We recommend feeding and napping be done before or after your visit to Kidscare, when possible.
And if your precious one is not settling and appears to be getting more distressed, we will notify the parent to return to help settle or collect the child.
Unsettled children can cause distress not just to the child but often to the surrounding children also, making for an unpleasant visit.
We do suggest if it continues to try to come in the quieter times, when the staff have less children to manage and they can assist in the settling process better.
Finally – please remember to label EVERYTHING!
Dummys, bags, bottles and lunch boxes!
And remember – we are a family – if you have any concerns or requests, please don’t be afraid to reach out to any of our team!
FOOD
To help make your childs KidsCare experience a happy one – we believe a well packed snack bag & water bottle can make all the difference!
As a child minding facility, our staff are monitoring more than one child, so please make sure your items are labelled and contain safe and healthy food choices.
We ask for NO POPCORN, WHOLE GRAPES, LOLLIPOPS OR HARD CANDIES
We respect that some children have allergies and therefore WE ARE A NUT FREE ZONE.
Ensure all staff are made aware of ANY allergies
TOILET STOPS
We take regular ‘toilet runs’ for those children that can manage on their own, our bathroom is a short walk from Kidscare & a staff member will always attend with them, assisting if required.
For those in nappies, please pack spare nappies, wipes and nappy sacks in a labelled bag, so we can respond to nappy changes.
If your little one is toilet training – we recommend popping a nappy on for your kidscare visit.
ILLNESS
We strive to maintain a healthy and safe environment in our KidsCare, so ask that you keep your child home if they are showing ANY signs of the following;
RUNNY NOSES – GREEN BOOGIES
FLEGHMY COUGHS
RINGWORM
UNEXPLAINED RASHES
CONJUNCTIVITUS ITCHY
SCALP/ HEAD LICE
DIARRHOEA AND/OR VOMITING
If our staff notice any of these symptoms, we will ask you to return and collect your child.
AGES & COST
We welcome babies as young as 6 weeks and as old as 16 years in our KidsCare facility!
Our cost is $3 per child and $2 for extra siblings.
Although, Saturdays we charge $5 per child and bookings are capped at the first 14.
We also welcome older children into our kidscare.
We oftern have older siblings come in during the school holidays – at which time we employ extra staff.
These staff will run a variety of games and activities suited to the older kids, to keep them moving and their brains engaged, without impacting the time required for the younger babies while they are there.
While we understand that screens and electronic devices have become a staple in many homes, we do encourage parents to try not to pack them into your childrens bags. Sometimes they can effect the way the children interact and we would rather try to engage other ways to keep them engaged while in kidscare. Again, we understand if it is a requirement .
SECURITY
Children need to feel comfortable, so we ask that you pack items that will make their time with us more familiar – including some kind of comforter.
Like a dummy, a teddy or a security blanket.
We recommend babies do come with prams if they require naps, so we can settle them in the safety of their own pram.
For some, it may just be plenty of cuddles when needed!
However if your child becomes extremely distressed we will of course come and notify you – the beauty of a family club like this – is that we all understand that sometimes is is just as hard for the mum as it may be for the child.
If leaving them for the first time. we will always respect your wishes and keep you as informed as possible.
Remember, even if you leave them for 10 minutes the first time and build from there – they will soon understand that mum always comes back – and this play room is actually a lot of fun!
